Hey! How're you guys(?) doing??
Today the tip is very practical. It's very usefull when you are talking in english on MSN or when you are reading some informal texts.
Like in Brazil, the americans have their msn slangs. One example from Brazil is : Vc(você),Tc(teclar)-alguém use isso ainda?-, Bj(Beijo), Fds(fim de semana) and many others.
In US they have it too, and here are some examples

AFAIK = do inglês “As Far AS I Know”. Tradução – Tanto quanto eu sei
AFK = do inglês “Away From The Keyboard”. Tradução – Longe do computador
ASL = do inglês Age, Sex, Location. Tradução – Idade, Sexo, Localização
BBL = do inglês “Be back later”. Tradução – Volto mais tarde !
OMG = do inglês “Oh My God”. Tradução – Oh Meu Deus
IMO = do inglês “In My Opinion”. Tradução – Na minha opinião
U = do inglês “you”. Tradução – tu
CU = do inglês see you [later]. Tradução – até [mais] logo.
FAQ = do inglês Frequently Answered Questions. Tradução – Respostas às perguntas mais frequentes.
LOL = Abreviatura do inglês “Loughing Out Loud”, que em português se pode traduzir por “Rir às gargalhadas”
MOFO = do inglês Mother Fucker. Tradução – Filho da mãe.

I liked it a lot...they are very creative, aren't they?

Hey Ladys and Gentleman! How are you??
I'm Ok! Today I want to give you a tip to improve your english: TRANSLATING MUSIC.
It's a wonderful way to learn because everybody likes music and it's a fun way to learn. And it is effective because you practice your understanding, your reading, your listenig AND your vocabulary!
I have to admit that this year I haven't done that pretty much....I think I have only translated 1 or 2 lyrics... shame on me.
But last year I translated a few more and I can say that it's very effective. It helps you a lot...
You can either translate a music from english or translate a portuguese music to english.
I advice you to choose easy musics to understand. Don't start with complicated musics.
A music that I like a lot and it's easy to understand is "LUCKY" from Jason Mraz and Colbie Caliet. It's a great and easy music!
You probably know Jason Mraz from "I'm Yours" because it was a hit last year. If you like this music(I'm yours) and want to translate it, make sure that you CAN translate, otherwise you may be frustated, because this lyric is very difficult.
For those who like Miley Cyrus I advice "The Climb" which is very easy.

Another good thing to do is tranlate news from newspapers, online newspapers and etc. I used to it do a lot too, but this year I'm really lazy...don't follow me on that. ;]
It's very good because it forces you to understand the meaning of the text and teaches you to find the best way to write the same thing in portuguese, or in english, dependind on what language you are translating.

Well, I'm really enjoying to write, but I think this is enough.
See you around....
